Recently, the National Key Research and Development Program intergovernmental international science and technology innovation cooperation special project “cooperation research on the construction of desert oasis shelterbelt system” was successfully held in the Sand Forest Center of the Chinese Academy of Forestry.The project was jointly declared by College of Soil and Water Conservation of Beijing Forestry University and Sarin Center.
At the meeting, Professor Xiao Huijie from School of Soil and Water Conservation of Beijing Forestry University, who is in charge of the project, introduced the basic situation of the project, and the main members reported the implementation plan of each research task in detail.The expert advisory group comments and discusses the contents of the report and forms advisory opinions.After the meeting, the participants investigated the construction of shelter forest of Dengkou Desert Ecological System Location Observation and Research Station and Shalin Center Experimental Field in Mongolia.
The Shalin Center is the base for the project, and the United States partner is the University of South Tulsa.The two sides will jointly conduct research on the construction of desert oasis shelter forest system, jointly train graduate students and publish scientific research results, so as to provide support for Sino-US cooperation in forestry science and technology。
